Disney is my passion. I grew up watching Disney in Movies and on TV. When I was three I took my first trip to Walt Disney World. I have been thirteen times since then. Even though I have gotten older, my love for Disney hasn’t changed. My ultimate goal is to be a writer and producer for The Disney Channel.
One of my heros is John Beck who has his own production company. He originally started out as an intern on the show Boy Meets World and over the years he worked his way up to writer and executive producer for various programs, most of them on The Disney Channel. Another producer I admire is Dan Schneider. He was originally an actor most known for being a sidekick type character on this show called “Head of the Class”. As a kid he was bullied for being overweight. He’s still over weight but he never let his critics get him down. Since the late 1990s he has created multi-million dollar franchises for Nickelodeon and discovered and molded “stars” like Ariana Grande & Keenan Thompson (now known for Saturday Night Live). He was able to accomplish and be recognized for things that are rarely noticed by the public. I hope to become known for being the youngest television producer to ever work for The Disney Channel and be the youngest to ever create a show for the channel. Once I gain some attention, I want to use it to give back to kids and to inspire them to want to make a difference in their own communities, especially when it comes to the bullying epidemic in this country.
When I was six years old, I was diagnosed with ADHD which stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. At that age, it’s hard to hear some kind of news that makes you think you’re different than everyone else. Because of this, plus the fact that I moved to a new state at the same time, it was hard for me to make friends and I had to work super hard to overcome my disability. I still struggle with it but in a different way in comparison to when I was little. Because I didn’t understand much about my disability I made so many mistakes that resulted in kids not liking me and I was bullied in elementary school and middle school. Now that I have learned and have overcome those experiences, I want to help kids realize that they aren’t alone. Someday, I want to start a program to show kids how to overcome bullying by just being themselves.
I’m still researching my options but I’m very excited for what’s coming next and looking forward to where I want to end up and who I want to be.
